Fiesta Mayor of Escaldes-Engordany

Andorra, August 26, 2002

In Andorra, since the beginning of summer or during the winter, many festivals are celebrated in different towns or parishes in the country of the Pyrenees.

One of the most emblematic festivals during summer is the Escaldes de Engordany, which has come to be a hot date for the inhabitants of that country as they have always offered a rich diversity and quality poster in the proceedings. We, as the Mariachi of Barcelona, we like to let you know we have been considered to work in their scenarios, showing their confidence in our work programmers.

Escaldes is a parish of Andorra, the second in population after Andorra La Vella, and is located in the center of the country, at the confluence of the two rivers Valira. This parish was originally an area developed through agriculture and livestock and was well known for its woolen until the use of hot springs took advantage benefit the development of hotels and tourism.

Mexican culture has always had and has a distinguished place in the world stage and in the memories of the golden years of cinema and radio which were seen around the world.

During the years we’ve been in these lands we have traveled several times to Andorra and there is a small community where Mexicans are always eager to organize, present and participate in any cultural activity related to Mexico.

The Performance was on stage and people sang with us, enjoyed, danced and requested their favorite songs in the purest tradition of mariachi “when requests”.

Always in our actions we try to raise some of its own repertoires of mariachi groups to try to have them understand the culture and what this music is about more than simply accompanying singers with great voices that have become famous in Mexican tradition. Thanks are due to figures like Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante giving the projection of our culture and our task is to show the roots that have nurtured these stars of mexican music.
